Now what was I going to say???

Last night after I laid down I thought about what it was that I wanted to post today. I had quite a bit to catch you up on. Unfortunately, I can't remember one thing!

I'm pretty sure I was going to talk about Matthew, who is in the 6th grade this year. Like his mom and dad, he has joined the band and really likes it. He played Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star for me the other night on his tuba. We are quite proud. He and his dad are camping with the scouts this weekend, so I have a little free time.

Now I remember - I was going to talk about my new addiction! I am addicted to Facebook. After the miscarriage, I joined a loss group on the Babycenter boards. These ladies have been a big help to me through that time. Well, we had been discussing for some time moving to a format that was a little more private, so when Babycenter changed the format of their boards we decided to move to Facebook. One of the bonuses is that I have actually found some of my old high school friends, so it has been alot of fun catching up with them. If you are on Facebook too - look me up!

Since I have some free time today, I think I am going to run into Fort Worth and walk around the mall and Joann today. I'm thinking of doing a little sewing and want to look at patterns. I'm also thinking of having a late lunch at La Madeleine. I miss my once a week visit with Amy (when I worked at Guidant) - it is such an ordeal to go now as the ones in Fort Worth arent' as close. I've kind of been hanging around the house though because my Pampered Chef stuff is supposed to come today - 5 boxes worth! I got $115 worth of free stuff - YEAH!

A few happy moments:

Yeah to my friend Dayna for finally selling their house in Grand Prairie AND having a contract on one in Houston

Yeah to my friends in Houston, who seemed to weather Ike OK

Yeah to a few days of cooler weather here in Fort Worth (and more to come)

Yeah to my friend Lisa who doesn't have to work Saturdays any more

Yeah to my friend Renee who has been substitute teaching (and having fun with the kids)

Congrats to my cousin Steve and his new wife Katie, who got married in September

Congrats to our friends Roy and Ofilia who's daughter Valerie got married in September

OK, I think that is all for now! Take care,

Lori

Once again...

I've gone an entire month without adding anything to my blog. Our big news for August was VACATION! We went to Iowa. Now I know that doesn't sound too exciting, but it is fun for us. We visited with my Grandma and got to go to the state fair twice. We also got some down time which was really nice.

Coming back to work wasn't as much fun!

Too hot!!!

It is HOT! In fact, it is so hot that I am completely unmotivated to do anything. Well, honestly, I don't know that the heat has anything to do with it. I'm just not motivated. I have things to do - pictures to scrap, stamp club to prepare for, my house to clean. I don't even want to go take a nap. Maybe I'll put in one of my girly movies (or Pirates, that always makes me laugh) and work on cleaning up my table.

I went to Mineral Wells yesterday to see my friends' new house. It is really cute - they have done a nice job with it. I got a few pages done, but mainly talked (and went to Cats to buy some of the Bella Vita paper). Since I played yesterday I should really work today, but I don't want to! I bought some Fuze at WM, maybe that will motivate me to at least get off of the computer.

I did finally finish my digital album - it should be here TOMORROW!!! I would post the link but one of my friends pointed out that it has my address on it. I'll have to fix that...

Till later - stay cool!

What a busy summer!

Wow - I can't believe how the summer is just flying by. Matthew and I actually went shopping for school clothes today (mainly because of my 30% off Kohl's coupon). Other than that life is pretty uneventful. We have decided when we are going on vacation and have a place to stay. The rest of the details we can work out when we get there. Matthew and Jerry went to boy scout camp in June - I went up to visit them for family night. It was really hot! They had fun though. Not much else to report here!

A Little Bit of a Scare

I had a little bit of a scare this week. I went for my mammogram on May 30th. I came home from CKU to a letter with "RECALL" in big letters at the top saying that I needed to come back in to have something checked out. I had an appointment this morning at 8:15, they did a few new views and, believe it or not, the Radiologist checked them right then. Everything is OK! A big thanks to all my prayer warriors who helped me through!

Wahoo for CKU!

I got back from CKU sunday, and boy did I have a great time. I would recommend going to anyone! It was action packed and fun to meet the people that you see in the scrapbook mags. I loved my digital album track - I have a few more tweaks and then I'll post a link to the final product. Here are some pics from my weekend!
Ali Edwards
Jessica Sprague (during my album track)
Lisa Bearnson
Tim Holtz (an awesome teacher!)
Here are all my goodies! I ended up with 3 extra bags of stuff plus several projects to finish.
I'm off to finish my projects!

I'm Baaack!!!!

Here I go, once again thinking I will remember to post and I keep forgetting.

The first thing I want to do is recommend a scrapbook retreat location. The last weekend in April I stayed at the Peachtree Country Retreat - check it out at http://www.thecropnshed.com/. Our hosts, Michelle and Eddie McDougald were wonderful - the food was great and the accomodations really nice. I had a great time - watched lots of chick movies (don't get to do this very often LOL) and even got a little scrapbooking done. I can't wait to go back.

I only have 11 more days and I am off to CKU (Creating Keepsakes University)! One of the classes I am going to take is a digital class, so I have been taking a Jessica Sprague digital class online so I don't fall behind. I'm quite pleased with my progress! Here is the last layout I did (I'll have credits at the end). I have been collecting digital freebies for 2 years or so, so it is fun to learn how to use them.

Well, I had better get back to real life!
