I'm pretty sure I was going to talk about Matthew, who is in the 6th grade this year. Like his mom and dad, he has joined the band and really likes it. He played Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star for me the other night on his tuba. We are quite proud. He and his dad are camping with the scouts this weekend, so I have a little free time.
Now I remember - I was going to talk about my new addiction! I am addicted to Facebook. After the miscarriage, I joined a loss group on the Babycenter boards. These ladies have been a big help to me through that time. Well, we had been discussing for some time moving to a format that was a little more private, so when Babycenter changed the format of their boards we decided to move to Facebook. One of the bonuses is that I have actually found some of my old high school friends, so it has been alot of fun catching up with them. If you are on Facebook too - look me up!
Since I have some free time today, I think I am going to run into Fort Worth and walk around the mall and Joann today. I'm thinking of doing a little sewing and want to look at patterns. I'm also thinking of having a late lunch at La Madeleine. I miss my once a week visit with Amy (when I worked at Guidant) - it is such an ordeal to go now as the ones in Fort Worth arent' as close. I've kind of been hanging around the house though because my Pampered Chef stuff is supposed to come today - 5 boxes worth! I got $115 worth of free stuff - YEAH!
A few happy moments:
Yeah to my friend Dayna for finally selling their house in Grand Prairie AND having a contract on one in Houston
Yeah to my friends in Houston, who seemed to weather Ike OK
Yeah to a few days of cooler weather here in Fort Worth (and more to come)
Yeah to my friend Lisa who doesn't have to work Saturdays any more
Yeah to my friend Renee who has been substitute teaching (and having fun with the kids)
Congrats to my cousin Steve and his new wife Katie, who got married in September
Congrats to our friends Roy and Ofilia who's daughter Valerie got married in September
OK, I think that is all for now! Take care,
Lori
